Impedance tube kit

A set of transmission loss tubes and resistance tubes ensures accurate testing of the acoustic properties of the material. The tube is connected to microphones and a sound source.

With the kit it is possible to perform material monitoring of speed and test in a strictly repeatable environment. This is especially valuable when developing new materials. A sample of materials is placed in the tube for measurements. The speaker tube then emits an accurately quantified sound, and the microphones measure the sound pressure level at certain points along the length of the tube. Using PULSE, you can quickly material normal acoustic properties based on frequency characteristics. These kits help to determine the sound absorption coefficient and surface resistance by measurements and calculations according to ISO 10534-2, ASTM E1050-12 and transmission loss according to ASTM E2611-17.

Description:

The transmission loss tube and impedance tube kits provide precision testing tubes equipped with microphones and sound sources.

To perform measurements, material samples are inserted into the tube. A loudspeaker in the tube then emits precisely quantified sound, and the microphones measure the sound pressure level at specific locations along the length of the tube. With PULSE software, you are able to quickly calculate the normal incident acoustic properties of the material based on frequency response functions measured between the various measurement locations. These kits help you determine sound absorption coefficient and surface impedance by making measurements and calculations in compliance with ISO 10534-2, ASTM E1050 – 12, and transmission loss ASTM E2611 – 17.
