About Us

In 1994, the Faculty of Civil Engineering established the Institute for Automated Design of Structures -now, the Institute of Materials and Structures).

The expansion of the Profile Institute, in the later years, lead to the creation of a Professor Group of Building Materials.

As a result of subsequent changes in 2003 the Professor Group of Building Materials, was renamed as the Professors Group of Building Materials and Building Products, which in 2014 was renamed as the Department of Building Materials and Building Products, headed by Professor Dr. sc Ing. Aleksandrs Korjakins.

Science

Experimental testing of building materials is carried out at the Department of Building Materials and Building Products.

The Department of Building Materials and Construction Products has research facilities and software available to students, companies and other institutions for scientific research.
